TGS is selling their North American well data business to Enverus for $100mm (plus some conditional payments) on revenues of USD $27mm. It's pretty rare to see transaction values on these kinds of deals, but as a public company, TGS often discloses them. We figured TGS would be rationalizing the portfolio in the wake of the 2024 merger with PGS. But coming off of the recent announcements of Oseberg and Danomics partnerships, we're a little surprised that this is what got carved off. Enverus positions themselves even more dominantly in the North American onshore data space.
PDS (mostly) bought by Enverus
Enverus also announced that they are buying four of the six exchanges on PDS Energy: Well Data, Production Data, Frac Interface, and AquaTrader. This further consolidates an enormous amount of proprietary upstream O&G data flowing through Enverus, adding to OpenInvoice, OpenTicket, EnergyLink, JIBLink, and more. PDS still has the Gas Balancing and E-Ticket exchanges, but we're confident this sale represents the vast majority of PDS's revenue. What will Enverus do surfing on top of such a huge wave of data moving between operators?
Streamba is a supply-chain focused software company out of Scotland that became the latest in a decade-long run of acquisitions by Quorum. The press releases talk about integration with DaWinci, a product we don't often see in the U.S.
Spotfire 15.0 is out
Spotfire 15.0 has been announced as an "Innovation" release, so not approved for long-term support. But still very much worth watching as it shows what their dev team is working on. There's a goody bag of O&G-relevant stuff, including Probit plots, export to Shapefiles, adaptive formats for time axes, minor gridlines on logarithmic axes, and connectors to AVEVA PI, LAS files, and ComboCurve. Plus a lot of AI features and something called Push Compute (which sounds analogous to Power BI Direct Query?).

Another month, another batch. This one has a lot of quality-of-life things, including improved visual theme management, conditional formatting for lines/columns, and better page navigation (finally!!).
